Refunds

Clear rules for refunds when you buy a ResumeCaliper credit Package. Statutory 14-day withdrawal is waived at checkout when you confirm immediate start; this page explains when a refund still applies and how unused Checks are valued.

Last updated: 24 September 2026 (version 2026-09-24). This page applies to paid Packages (bundles of Checks) bought through ResumeCaliper. It does not replace the Terms of Service; if anything conflicts, the Terms and mandatory consumer law prevail. Where this page is translated, the English version prevails in case of doubt, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.

1. Why this page exists

Before you pay, ResumeCaliper must tell you clearly:

Those rules sit in Terms §8. This Refunds page is the same information in one place, linked from Billing and the site footer. Free Checks are not paid purchases and are outside this page.

A separate refunds document is not a substitute for the Terms — it is how ResumeCaliper presents them clearly. Because withdrawal is waived at purchase when you tick the checkbox, this page is not a 14-day “returns policy”; it explains refunds that remain relevant after that waiver.

2. What you can buy

Packages (for example Trial — the base pack — or Monthly) give you a number of Checks valid for a stated period. Prices, Check counts and validity are shown on Pricing and in the app at checkout. List prices exclude VAT; where VAT must be charged, Stripe Checkout shows the total including tax before you confirm. Payments are processed by Stripe; ResumeCaliper never stores your full card number.

3. Immediate start and loss of the 14-day withdrawal right

A Check is a digital service performed when you run an analysis. Before checkout the app requires you to tick a checkbox confirming that you:

  1. expressly request that the Service start during the withdrawal period; and
  2. acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal for that Package purchase once you confirm.

Without that acknowledgment ResumeCaliper cannot start the paid Service until the withdrawal period has expired.

SituationWhat happens
You confirmed the checkout checkbox (normal purchase)The 14-day right of withdrawal for that Package does not apply (waiver). This page’s “returns / 14-day withdrawal” framing is therefore not the primary refund path.
You never confirmed the checkboxResumeCaliper will not start the paid Service until the withdrawal period has expired
Mandatory consumer law still requires a remedy in your countryResumeCaliper complies; contact [email protected]. The unused-credit formula in section 4 applies to any monetary refund of remaining Checks

4. How unused-credit refunds are calculated

When a monetary refund of unused Checks is due under the Terms (for example ResumeCaliper’s material reduction of a Package, termination caused by ResumeCaliper’s breach, or where mandatory law requires it), the refund is:

Package price paid − (used Checks × base price per Check), never below zero

where:

Because used Checks are valued at the Trial unit price and subtracted from what you paid, the refund is never negative and therefore never exceeds the amount you paid for that Package (excluding any separately stated tax that Stripe collected and must reverse under its own rules). Unused Checks that expire at the end of the Package validity period are not refunded.

Example (illustrative). If you paid for any Package and have used some Checks, each used Check is valued at the Trial price-per-Check and deducted from the Package price you paid; you receive the remainder (or zero if used Checks at that unit price exhaust what you paid).

5. Other refund situations

SituationWhat happens
Technical failure of a Check (ResumeCaliper's fault; analysis does not complete)The Check is released back to your account automatically or on request — you are not charged a failed run. This is a credit restore, not a card refund, unless the whole Package is cancelled under section 4 or 6.
Unused Checks expire at the end of the Package validity periodNo refund
Abusive use (Terms acceptable use)Credits consumed by abuse are not refunded
You disagree with an AI score or draftNot a lack of conformity by itself (Terms §9); review Outputs before you use them
ResumeCaliper materially reduces what a current Package offersConsumers may end the contract and receive a refund of unused Checks calculated as in section 4 (Terms §13)
ResumeCaliper terminates your account because of its breachUnused Checks are refunded as in section 4 (Terms §13)

6. How to request a refund

  1. E-mail [email protected] from the address linked to your account (or use Contact).
  2. State that you request a refund for your Package; include the approximate purchase date and, if you have it, the Stripe receipt or payment reference.
  3. ResumeCaliper confirms and processes eligible refunds as required by the Terms and mandatory law (same payment method where a card refund is due).

Chargebacks through your bank remain available where your payment provider allows them; contact ResumeCaliper first so the matter can be resolved faster.

7. Non-EU / non-consumer buyers

If you are not an EU/EEA consumer, statutory withdrawal rules may differ. ResumeCaliper still handles technical failures as in section 5. Any goodwill refund is at ResumeCaliper's discretion unless your local mandatory law says otherwise. Where a monetary refund of unused Checks is granted, section 4’s formula applies. Governing law and consumer protections are set out in the Terms.
