Education Industry Resume Guide
Resume tips for teaching, instructional design, and education operations—credentials, learning outcomes, and ATS-friendly structure.
Education hiring looks for credentials, learner outcomes, and setting context (K–12, higher ed, corporate L&D). Keep the CV parseable: plain-text certifications, reverse-chronological roles, and measurable impact.
Strong signals
- License, certification, or subject endorsement when the posting requires it
- Class size, grade band, modality (in-person, hybrid, online)
- Curriculum design, assessment, or equity initiatives with outcomes
- Edtech tools named in the JD (LMS, SIS, authoring tools)
Avoid
- Walls of soft skills with no teaching or program evidence
- Scanned certificates as the only proof of credentials (add text lines ATS can read)
- Uploading student PII or special-category data into any consumer CV tool
